Buffer Trade-off Results

The Buffer Tradeoff experiment helps you evaluate how changes in buffer capacity compare to improvements in interruption behavior, with a focus on overall system efficiency. By running this experiment, you can see how incremental adjustments to a specific buffer affect throughput and efficiency, making it easier to understand where added storage provides value and where reliability improvements may have a greater impact. The table below summarizes the results ReliaSim will provide when a buffer tradeoff experiment is run.

Result Description
Summary Shows run data for each run, including the buffer capacity and any interrupts dropped for that run.
Buffer/Interrupt Efficiency Charts efficiency across buffer capacity for each dropped interrupt condition.
Buffer/Interrupt Production Plots average production vs. buffer capacity for each interrupt condition.
Buffer/Interrupt Box and Whisker Shows a box and whisker plot representing the range of runs across each buffer and interrupt condition. This shows how these changes might impact run variability.
